Today, we will explain the difference between light brick and red brick. Is red brick better or light brick better?
Red brick (solid clay brick)
Sintered building bricks are made of clay, shale, coal gangue and other raw materials, crushed, mixed and kneaded, pressed manually or mechanically, dried and fired in an oxidizing flame at a temperature of about 900 ℃.
Burn bricks inside and outside with fire, and then extinguish the fire to make the kiln and bricks cool naturally. The air in the kiln is circulated and the oxygen is sufficient to form a good oxidation atmosphere. The iron element of bricks is oxidized to ferric oxide. So it is red.
The production process is relatively simple, which can realize mechanized production with high production efficiency and wide application.
Red brick is a solid brick, waterproof and moisture proof, and has good thermal insulation performance.
The old building is a brick concrete structure, so the red brick has been used all the time, but it also has obvious shortcomings for modern high-rise frame structure buildings.
The weight of red bricks is large, because the current houses are frame structures, rather than the old brick concrete structures, which will bring burden to the frame bearing of high-rise buildings.
Burning red bricks will destroy a lot of farmland and consume coal. There are almost big pits and man-made deserts around the brick factory. A large number of red bricks will cause waste of land resources.
Lightweight brick
Aerated concrete block The general weight is 500-700 kg/m3, which is only 1/4-1/3 of clay brick and lime sand brick, and 1/5 of ordinary concrete. It is the lighter type of concrete, and is suitable for infill walls of high-rise buildings and load-bearing walls of low rise buildings. Using this material, the deadweight of the whole building can be reduced by more than 40% compared with that of ordinary brick concrete structure buildings. Since the deadweight of the building is reduced and the seismic damage is small, the seismic capacity of the building is greatly improved.
Thermal insulation: when this product is used as the peripheral structure, it can meet the thermal insulation and energy saving requirements of energy-saving buildings in China without auxiliary thermal insulation materials. With a product with a thickness of 4 cm, it can achieve the thermal insulation effect of 24 cm brick walls, providing people with a comfortable and comfortable living and office environment.
Impermeability: the internal small holes of the product are all independent closed holes, with a diameter of Φ 1-2 mm, which can effectively prevent the diffusion of water molecules. When common exterior wall painting is adopted, the impermeability of light brick wall is 85% higher than that of clay red brick masonry.
Fireproof performance: the raw materials and products of this product are inorganic and will never burn. The experiment shows that the product is an ideal fireproof material, and the fireproof capacity of 100 ㎜ thick wall can reach more than 4 hours. Therefore, this product is widely used in firewall engineering.
Good sound insulation: according to the thickness and surface treatment of the wall, the wall can be soundproof 30-50 decibels. It is also a good sound absorption material.
Good seismic capacity: the same building structure uses lightweight bricks to improve several seismic levels than clay bricks.
Product adaptability: This product is widely used in residential buildings, hotels, boxes, workshops, and office buildings. Its adaptability is superior, including fire prevention, heat insulation, moisture-proof, and sound absorption. Therefore, it has been widely praised by the decoration industry.
As a substitute for red brick, light brick is slightly weaker than solid red brick in its own strength, but it is no problem to hang TV, air conditioner, etc. on it, because the surface of light brick will be painted with a paint layer, and the paint layer will be treated with anti cracking technology.
